Both types of education (ancient and modern) have been given prominence in the Gurukulam of Vedic-Vidya-Kendra. After the admission of 5th pass students, DAV’s CBSE syllabus is being taught in class 6th. In class X, the syllabus of NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) will be there and the examination will also be conducted through the same board.
There will be five compulsory subjects in class X
In these five years in Arsh study, education is being done under three subjects. These are
Topics under Sanskrit grammar
Vedas taken by heart
Texts under literature and philosophy etc.
All the subjects are being conducted compulsorily. The division of time as per the requirement for the study of all the subjects is also ensured.
Veda-mantras are being made to be memorized only in the first five years. After class X, the process of getting them interpreted will also be started.
Three quarterly examinations are conducted in a year. Examinations of Vedic classes are also held in the middle, but their marks are added under the four-monthly examination only. The examinations of the Vedic course will be subject-wise and other examinations will be fixed quarterly. Individual report cards of all these subjects will be issued simultaneously. Before the exam, five days are given to prepare for the exam and during this time there are no classes.
Modern education is compulsory till tenth standard. Thereafter, proper arrangements will be made for the students who opt for intensive studies in Para Vidya. For them the study of Arsha-Shastras will be given prominence.
