D.A.V. Gurukulam is running as a part of Vedic Vidya Kendra, an integrated complex in Puducherry.
Vedic Vidya Kendra will integrate the following:
Vedic Vidya Kendra is managed by the Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society, under the aegis of Arya Samaj Foundation. The precursor to Arya Samaj Foundation was Arya Samaj Chennai. It had been established in 1914 for the purpose of spreading the Vedic message and further the vision of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. It has been operating ever since.
In 2022, Arya Samaj Foundation (ASF), a section 25 company, replaced Arya Samaj Chennai. This was done to manage the significant increase in the range of activities being performed by Arya Samaj Chennai. Managing the Arya Samaj in Chennai is one of the activities of Arya Samaj Foundation. However, Arya Samaj Foundation has expanded its range of activities to establish and operate the Vedic Vidya Kendra, besides numerous other initiatives that go beyond the geographic boundaries of Arya Samaj Chennai.
One of the core aims of the Arya Samaj is to build a knowledge-driven society by consistently delivering high quality, affordable and value-based education based on Vedic principles. Hence, members of Arya Samaj, Chennai formed the Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society (TNAES) in the 1970s. TNAES began operating the DAV Group of Schools in Chennai. Its schools began to be counted among the Top schools in the country. Today, it has 28 schools being owned, managed or supported by TNAES, totalling over 40,000 students.
Arya Samaj Foundation is the parent body of Vedic Vidya Kendra. It is managing the running of the Gurukulam until the Vedic Vidya Kendra is inaugurated by the end of 2023. DAV Group of Schools provide the academic and financial support for the Gurukulam.
