A. Gurukulam is the system that has been going on since ancient times, where the Guru resides with his disciples. When the child enters the age of 10 years, he becomes eligible for education. He becomes well versed in arts also.
B. In a Gurukulam, people are not discriminated based on caste (rich, normal and poor) and everyone is given equal right to education. There is no discrimination between children.
C. Abhyudaya (worldly pleasures) and Nishreyas (salvation pleasures) are the aims of education in Gurukulam. The main aim of human life (self-knowledge or Brahma-knowledge i.e. attainment of salvation) is also focused on physical, mental and spiritual development.
D. Special attention is given to education given through Gurukulam: - This method is also called Guru-Shishya Parampara. Its objectives were: discretion and self-restraint, improvement of character, friendship or social awareness, original personality and intellectual development, spread of virtue, spiritual development, preservation of knowledge and culture, leadership of society etc., can be seen, which is possible only in the Gurukulam system. Great examples of this system are Ram and Krishna.
E. There is no doubt that Gurukulam is considered an integral part for Yoga Sadhana and Yajna. Here every student learns every type of work and only after completion of education, he used to choose his work on the basis of interest and quality. From the study of theology to the education of weapons is also taught here.
Modern education system
A. Modern education system has evolved over time, this modern education system helps students understand knowledge in a better way through various techniques, which increases memory, but it creates an environment in the society in which there is a huge difference between poor and rich.
B. The shortcoming of this education system is that instead of the practical part, the emphasis is on the theoretical part, due to which the person is not able to connect himself with the society and what kind of relationship he has with his parents, teachers, teachers and elders. Modern education (school) does not tell you to behave.
C. Presently the aim of Gurukulam training is to coordinate both the education systems. We should not forget that the Gurukulam system was the only education system at that time, which along with education taught the students the art of living culture, manners and (cultured and disciplined) life.
